Walter Pierce and Emanuel Morgan, teammates at Fresno Central High in California, took the top two spots in the boys 400 meters at the Gateway to Track and Field Invitational at Veterans Memorial Stadium at Buchanan High in Clovis, Calif. Pierce, a senior, clocked 48.53 and sophomore standout Morgan ran 48.81. Morgan also finished fifth in the 200 meters in 22.01 and Pierce was 14th overall in 22.56.
